We took an unscheduled vacation to Arnold, California this October for some rest and relaxation. Bob and Deanna let us use one of their timeshares and we found a close mountain resort. The Wibbers were able to join us for a few days before Lisa needed to get back home for her nursing school studies. We were able to visit the Calaveras National Park Big Trees. We walked a 2 miles loop and the kids loved exploring all the large trees. We also explored one of the nearby caverns, Moaning Caverns. The three big kids all bought mining headlamps.
The last couple of days we found a neighborhood park where we let the kids
play for a few hours. It had a small lake for Ethan to throw rocks into and
lots of play ground equipment for Morgan to climb. We had a nice
time and I'd like to make it an annual event so we're looking into investing in
a time-share.
